as august comes to a close, we are preparing to celebrate having a teenager in the house as well as adapting to our spring surprise of a baby due in december. the girls are ending their fourth week of a new school year and although our summer break wish list was mostly forgotten we are eager to see what this baby will bring to our family dynamic.
i am finally feeling calmer with this maternal gift after a long summer of struggling and working through emotions of complete mayhem, chaos, guilt and anger. the days of summer were spent reflecting inward and learning to embrace change. a new outlook combined with the excitement of those around me has me recognizing that what this life gives us is never what we expect or think we want but instead a mad, passionate, emotional and extraordinary journey.
